The Kravet Student Design Forum at NYSID

Focusing on sharing the skills and knowledge required to become a successful residential interior designer, the topics included; brand building, the future of interior design, design advice, product information and more.  The compelling day left all attendees (not just students) engaged and informed.

Students had the opportunity to hear real world stories from the professionals, see demonstrations of textile technology, gain knowledge of historical archives, hear advice from both furniture and window experts, and so much more. In addition to programming, the impressive line-up of speakers included some of the design industry’s biggest and brightest names including: Nate Berkus, Hilary Matt, Jennifer Beek Hunter, Courtney McLeod, Kati Curtis, David Scott, Claudia Giselle Tejeda, Peti Lau, Young Huh, Kesha Franklin, Linherr Hollingsworth, Susan Crater, Tina Ramchandani, Eric Espinoza, and Eneia White. The expert moderators for the program included Benjamin Reynaert, Clinton Smith, Sabine Rothman and Hadley Keller.

All participating students received a certificate of completion that can be added to their portfolio, making the program both invaluable for information as well as in practice.  Upon handing out the certificates, David Sprouls, President of NYSID, alongside Ellen Kravet who also serves as President of the NYSID Board of Trustees explained “I hope you understand, at the end of today, how truly generous the design profession is.”
